MATCHA BAMBOO SPOON (CHASHAKU)
The bamboo spoon also called Chashaku is traditionally used to properly dose premium Matcha.
The recommended amounts are 1 spoon for Usucha (thin tea) and 2 for Koicha (thick tea).
The Chashaku is carved from bamboo and shaped with a lot of patience by hand on steaming boiling water.
The Chashaku should not get wet - please clean it with a dry cloth.
Matcha Bamboo Spoon (Chashaku)
Preparing the matcha tea is not difficult, time-consuming, nor does it require any special skills.
It is a fine powder that should be mixed with water. For this purpose, you can use both traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) or electric milk frother.
The traditional method of making the matcha tea comes from the Japanese tea ceremony (Chanoyu).
To prepare the drink, we need a bowl, a bamboo whisk and a bamboo spoon.
Put two bamboo scoops of matcha into a bowl, pour 100 ml of hot water (75-80 °C) and whisk vigorously with a whisk until a dense green foam is formed.
